Founded in 1993 by current CEOs Karsten Esser and Andreas Finkernagel as a brick and mortar store, Pegasus Spiele has long since established itself not only as a distributor but also as a publisher of successful board games, with around 600 publications for children, families, game enthusiasts, and role playing fans.
After receiving various awards for Spiel des Jahres (Game of the Year) and Kennerspiel des Jahres (Connoisseur Game of the Year) since 2014, Pegasus Spiele won the blue Kinderspiel des Jahres (Children's Game of the Year) award for the first time with Dragomino. Most recently, Bomb Busters won the Game of the Year award in 2025.
