Springtime on the Tabletop

March release of Edition Spielwiese published by Pegasus Spiele

Friedberg, April 15, 2024: In March, Edition Spielwiese released the new family game Shifting Seasons, which is distributed exclusively by Pegasus Spiele. The abstract tile-shifting game is all about good forward planning and clever placement.

In Shifting Seasons by Kirsten Hiese, two to four players aged eight and up must cleverly slide tiles on a central board to collect valuable tiles for their own board. In clockwise order, players will choose a tile from the display and push it into one of four lanes on the central game board. This action will push another tile free from the same lane, which the player will then claim. The number of the track indicates into which of the four areas of their own personal board the tile must now be placed.

Carefully choosing which tiles to slide onto the board, and which to push off, then placing them cleverly on one's own board can unlock bonuses, while also helping to fulfill the requirements of four scoring cards and secure valuable points. Of all the tiles in four seasonal colors, corresponding to spring, summer, autumn and winter, a few precious tiles score extra points. Thanks to 14 different scoring cards, only four of which are used each game, players will be challenged anew every play.
