Second Edition of the Pegasus Designer Days from 22 to 24 October; First Pegasus Illustrator Day on 21 October

Friedberg, 09-24-2020: From 22 to 24 October 2020, Pegasus Spiele invites game designers around the world to present their game ideas online at the second Pegasus Designer Days. Similar to the first Pegasus Designer Days in spring, the editors from the Pegasus Spiele editorial team will be available via web conference. In addition to the Designer Days, the first Pegasus Illustrator Day will take place on 21 October 2020 where illustrators can present concept proposals for upcoming projects. Registration for both events is now open until 11 October.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the contact restrictions and the resulting cancellation of numerous game designer meetings, the Pegasus Designer Days were founded in spring. Within two days, a total of 181 authors from all over the world presented around 350 game ideas via Zoom to the Pegasus Spiele editorial team. After the great success of this event, the second edition of the Pegasus Designer Days will take place in fall, coinciding with the first Pegasus Illustrator Day.

From 22 to 24 October 2020, Pegasus Spiele again offers game designers the opportunity to present their game ideas online to the Pegasus Spiele editorial team.  Additionally, freelance editor Claudia Geigenmüller will attend the event to evaluate any Children’s Games, while the editorial team of the newly founded publisher Deep Print Games will especially be happy to take a look at all Gamers’ Games. During the video conferences, game designers have ten minutes per game idea to enthrall the editors. In the following weeks, the editors will provide feedback on each game presented. If a game idea could convince the team, a playable prototype should be sent promptly. This will then be tested extensively in the following weeks. After that, the game designers will receive further feedback – and possibly an offer for publication at Pegasus Spiele.

The first Pegasus Illustrator Day takes place on 21 October 2020, one day before the Designer Days start. On this day, the Pegasus Spiele editorial team is looking forward to concrete concept proposals for the artwork of one or more projects from the sections Children’s Games, Family Games or Core Games. During their appointment, illustrators have 20 minutes each to delight the editors with their artwork for these projects. In the two weeks after the event, the editors will give feedback to all illustrators who participated, letting them know if their ideas were convincing and if they have made it to the short-list, which can result in an award of contract.

Interested illustrators and game designers (who can register up to two game ideas) can sign up, using the registration form up to and including 11 October. Please note that the registration by itself does not guarantee a meeting appointment. Participants will receive a response e-mail with the time for their appointment and a link for an online video conference via Zoom. The number of attendees is limited.
