Edition Spielwiese and Pegasus Spiele thrilled to receive prestigious Spiel des Jahres award
Friedberg, 07-21-2021: New cooperative detective game MicroMacro: Crime City by Johannes Sich and Hard Boiled Games was awarded the coveted Spiel des Jahres on Monday morning in Berlin. Edition Spielwiese and exclusive distribution partner Pegasus Spiele were pleased and honored to see the popular family game receive the preeminent international prize.
Nearly every year since receiving their first nomination in 2009, Pegasus Spiele has been recognized in some form with nominations, recommendations, and awards for the Kinderspiel, Kennerspiel, and Spiel des Jahres. However, winning two Spiel des Jahres prizes in a single year is an outstanding achievement even for this seasoned veteran, who accomplished this only once before in 2014 for Istanbul and Camel Up (with partner Eggertspiele). 2021 saw Pegasus Spiele take the Kinderspiel des Jahres award for the German edition of Dragonimo (distributed in English language by Blue Orange Games) in June - a first time win for Pegasus Spiele in the Kinderspiel category. Following that up with MicroMacro: Crime City (with partner Edition Spielwiese) securing the illustrious Spiel des Jahres marks only the second time in their publishing history that Pegasus Spiele has been able to celebrate a double victory.
The Spiel des Jahres jury says about MicroMacro: Crime City: "A large black-and-white poster and a few cards – that’s all MicroMacro: Crime City needs to captivate players.
