Moneybags and crimes in black and white

Pegasus Spiele and Edition Spielwiese partner for two new releases

Friedberg, September 30, 2022: Around SPIEL'22, two new family games are published by Edition Spielwiese, both exclusively distributed by Pegasus Spiele. MicroMacro: Crime City – All In, the third installment in the best-selling MicroMacro series, takes players on a gangster hunt in a new part of the city. Available at SPIEL Essen for the first time, Swindler challenges players to push their luck stealing loot from rich moneybags in Victorian London to become the master thief.

Life in Victorian London isn’t always easy. The city is run by rich moneybags, swaggering about with their wealth. Now it’s time to seize opportunities as Swindlers and cutpurses to claim your share! But some of the rich are more attentive than expected. One wrong move and all your loot will be gone! In the new family game by Matthias Cramer players will steal loot over the course of several rounds then have the chance to fulfill orders, sell loot to dealers, and hire accomplices. There are five money bags with a different variety of loot in each. Once a player has chosen which bag to pull from that turn, they can draw as many loot tiles as they want, one by one. If players push their luck too far and a skull token is drawn, they have been caught! All the tiles of that bag’s color, including any previous loot you successfully stole, must be returned. After a successful theft, the loot can be sold to dealers or used to complete orders for big payoffs. Accomplices are happy to help for the right price and give special abilities during the game. The family game for two to four people aged ten and up will be available for the first time at the Essen SPIEL: On Thursday and Friday exclusively at the Edition Spielwiese booth in Hall 2, D110, and from Saturday also at the Pegasus Spiele booth in Hall 3, M110.

A true success story is MicroMacro: Crime City. The family game by the studio Hard Boiled Games was released in fall 2020, and the number of copies sold of the first and the second part has now reached about 2,5 million. In addition, the game has been translated into 32 languages and received the prestigious Spiel des Jahres (Game of the Year) award in 2021. With MicroMacro: Crime City 3 - All In, the third part of the popular series for one to four people has now been released. The new game is completely independently playable. No previous knowledge from the two previous parts is necessary - but fans of the series can look forward to a reunion with one or two familiar characters. Also in the third part, the central element is a huge city map (75 x 110 cm) in black and white. The aim is to discover details, but also to combine them creatively in order to solve the 16 new criminal cases. The entry hurdle is low due to the very short instructions. The cases are aimed at people aged ten and up and each takes about 15 to 45 minutes to solve.
