MicroMacro: Crime City nominated for Spiel des Jahres 2021

Friedberg, 05-18-2021: Yesterday morning Harald Schrapers and Christoph Schlewinski from Jury Kinderspiel und Spiel des Jahres announced this year´s nominations and recommendations for Kinderspiel, Kennerspiel, and Spiel des Jahres. Pegasus Spiele and distribution partner Edition Spielwiese are proud to announce that MicroMacro: Crime City was nominated for the most important award for games – Spiel des Jahres.

Since the first Spiel des Jahres nomination in 2009, Pegasus Spiele has earned nominations, recommendations, and awards for Kinderspiel (Children´s Game), Kennerspiel (Core Game), and Spiel des Jahres (Game of the Year) almost every year. In 2014, for example, the Spiel des Jahres jury awarded Istanbul and Camel Up (together with eggertspiele), two titles from the Pegasus Spiele range, with Kennerspiel and Spiel des Jahres. In 2017 Kingdomino (German version) followed, and in 2018 Azul (together with Next Move Games/Plan B Games) won Spiel des Jahres. In 2020 with the German versions of Foto Fish, Cartographers, and Nova Luna (together with Edition Spielwiese), once again there were three titles from the publishing and exclusive distribution range of Pegasus Spiele nominated for Kinderspiel, Kennerspiel, and Spiel des Jahres.

In 2021, Pegasus Spiele once again earned nominations and recommendations for all three categories of the world's most prestigious jury prize for board games. MicroMacro: Crime City, published by Edition Spielwiese, was one of three games nominated for the Spiel des Jahres. In this innovative detective game by Johannes Sich, which recently won the German Beeple Award and the French As d´Or, one to four players from the age of twelve work together to solve 16 exciting cases with varying levels of difficulty. To do so, they hunt for criminals on a 75 x 110 cm illustrated hidden object city map. Step by step, the players use the task cards of a case to locate the crime scene, search for clues, and gather evidence that leads them to the actual perpetrator. An attentive eye and creative powers of deduction help to discover the numerous secrets in Crime City and solve the many crimes it holds. Teaser video for MicroMacro: Crime City.
