Festive greetings and outlook to 2022
Friedberg – Dec. 21, 2021: Christmas and the New Year are approaching. Pegasus Spiele looks back on an eventful year with many gaming highlights like Game of the Year MicroMacro: Crime City. In 2022, gamers can again look forward to a varied program and numerous new releases.
Due to the continuing pandemic, many will have to adapt their Christmas celebrations again this year. For those looking for an activity that doesn't require a lot of planning and can be done with almost any number of people, board games are just the thing! For example, MicroMacro: Crime City. The family game from Edition Spielwiese, exclusively distributed by Pegasus Spiele, won the 2021 Game of Year (Spiel des Jahres 2021) as well as two awards at the 15th Annual Golden Geek Awards for 2020 in the categories ‘Innovative’ and ‘Light Game of the Year’. The successful cooperative detective game was quickly followed up by a second game. MicroMacro: Crime City 2 – Full House offers 16 brand-new cases for players who cannot get enough of the black-and-white city of crime. The cases can be solved by one to four people.
Besides the MicroMacro game series, Pegasus Spiele published multiple other exciting games this year like My Farm Shop and Kitchen Rush. The artwork may be bright and sweet, but don’t underestimate the strategy in these games! The UNDO storytelling series was also continued with Long Live the King where players try to save the life of the English king in 1256 by traveling through time. Those who are looking for a bit more complexity should take a look at Doodle Dungeon. Illustrated by Munchkin-illustrator John Kovalic, Doodle Dungeon uses an engaging draft-&-draw mechanic to challenge players to draw their own dungeon, hire strong monsters, and then defend their treasures from invading heroes. This unique game is perfect for two to four players aged ten and up.
For those looking ahead to 2022, there will be many more exciting games to play! In the first months, players can discover the unexplored world as early humans with Fire & Stone from award-winning designer Klaus-Jürgen Wrede. In the colorful kids’ game Bubble Trouble, everyone is playing together as a team to bring as many sea creatures as possible back to the safe coral reef. Additionally, the Port Royal Big Box will release, bringing the popular push-your-luck card game back to the table with brand-new vibrant art and the entire Port Royal collection contained in one box.
