Crimes, creative comparisons, feasting creatures, and colorful balloons

Friedberg, November 28, 2023: Pegasus Spiele publishing partner Edition Spielwiese has released five new games: two new entries in the MicroMacro: Crime City series, a cooperative game for the whole family—The Same Game, the quick little card game Prey another Dayand a new Reiner Knizia title—Havalandi.

Welcome back to Crime City - the vibrant city where crime lurks around every corner. MicroMacro: Crime City 4 - Showdown by Johannes Sich and Studio Hard Boiled Games is the fourth and final part in the series that began with MicroMacro: Crime City, awarded Spiel des Jahres 2021. All four parts can be played separately. In this cooperative game of investigation, up to four players ages twelve and up need a keen eye and creative deduction skills to solve each criminal case that unfolds across a huge 75 x 110 cm map. This final chapter reveals the fourth and last quarter of the notorious city, and introduces 16 brand new and challenging cases to unravel. The fate of Crime City is now in the hands, or rather eyes, of one to four amateur detectives ages ten and up to track down the criminals.

Continuing with more good news for all MicroMacro fans, in addition to the fourth release in the series we are also introducing MicoMacro: Crime City - Bonus Box! This is an expansion for the four previous games and offers 14 new cases: including 11 bonus cases (some of which were unpublished or previously only available at special events) plus three Epic cases that span multiple chapters and require all four Crime City district maps to solve!

How does the movement of a rocking horse compare to a windshield wiper? Are microwaves more important to humanity than diapers? Players tackle these and other strange and absurd questions of comparison in the family game, The Same Game. Three to six players ages ten and up will be challenged to relate completely different objects with each other, then discuss the qualities they might share in common. But be careful—one of the answers is a trap! The Same Game is a cooperative game of creative communication developed by Kennerspiel des Jahres-winning designer Wolfgang Warsch.

Standing at the railing of a viewing pavilion and watching beautiful, colorful hot air balloons rise into the air in the distance... the players of Havalandi find themselves in this idyllic setting. Bringing their own fleet of hot air balloons, they compete for notoriety by filling the sky with the most magnificent displays of these graceful aircraft. To score as many points as possible, players will first carefully choose where to set a balloon each turn across stretches of meadow, tulip fields, and sand dunes. Eventually, you must launch your fleets into the air and mesmerize the onlookers, scoring many points. A set of special balloons and end-game goal cards add strategic twists to this family game by Reiner Knizia. Havalandi is for two to four players ages eight and up.

In the family game Prey another Day by Brett J. Gilbert and Matthew Dunstan, two to five players ages eight and up are forest animals hunting for food in the wilderness. Staring at the players around the table, they’ll need to deduce when it is safe to hunt and when to stay hidden. In each round, players secretly choose one of the cards in their hand to play face down—bear, wolf, lynx, owl, or mouse. From largest to smallest and starting with bear, each animal will be called in turn. If alone, that player can declare a smaller animal to hunt and all matching face-down critters are revealed and eliminated. The round ends when only one animal remains, or after three hunts. Survivors receive valuable food markers, i.e. victory points, and the first player to collect 5 points wins!

The new releases by Edition Spielwiese are exclusively distributed by Pegasus Spiele.
