From Beer to CrypCoin

Deep Print Games presents three new releases at SPIEL'22

Friedberg, October 3,2022: The publisher Deep Print Games, newly founded in 2020, is launching three new games at the Essen SPIEL, which will be exclusively distributed by Pegasus Spiele. Thematically as well as mechanically, the range is wide: from the family-friendly tile-laying game Caldera Park to a challenging economic game for experienced players, Skymines, to a challenging duel game in a small format, Beer & Bread. The games will be available for the first time at SPIEL.

Deep Print Games presents a treat for fans of complex games with Skymines. This time, successful designer Alexander Pfister and Viktor Kobilke have developed a Eurogame set in outer space. One to four players aged twelve and up take on the role of investors who mine resources on the moon and the asteroid belt to earn CrypCoin, the main currency in space. Players will compete and interact as they invest in four different companies to increase the value of their shares and spread the company outposts out over different sectors. Actions are determined by managing cards and programming them on individual player boards. Players can also invest in research or helium-3. There are many strategic paths to follow and after seven rounds, the player with the most CrypCoin wins.

In contrast, the family game Caldera Park - the successor to Savannah Park - is more relaxed. The popular designers Wolfgang Kramer and Michael Kiesling have developed a tile-laying game set in the wilderness of North America. But the harmony and coziness that the artwork by Annika Heller radiates can be misleading, because numerous challenges await one to four players aged ten and up. Players are building their own parks and need to group together the same species to create families. The largest family of each species will score points, but it must have at least one watering hole. Each watering hole is a multiplier, giving players the chance to double or triple their score. But players will need to be careful, some weather patterns will affect nearby animals, flipping their tiles over. Caldera Park is published in the "In Nature" series by Deep Print Games and uses no plastic, instead it contains tuck boxes for the components.

Last but not least, Deep Print Games is also publishing Beer & Bread at SPIEL. The core game by Scott Almes marks the start of the publisher's new "For 2" series. It is a duel game with illustrations by Michael Menzel in which exactly two players aged ten and up each preside over a village. Fields are shared by both villages and alternate between dry and fruitful years. Players compete to brew the most delicious beer and bake the crispiest bread by using the multifunctional cards appropriately. Matching the theme, there are 30 beer cards and 30 bread cards in the game, as well as a total of 84 wooden resource tokens.
