IPA welcomes new recruits

Spaceship Unity is now available at Pegasus Spiele

Friedberg, October 20, 2022: The cooperative action game Spaceship Unity published by Pegasus Spiele is now available. As recruits of the IPA, players turn their apartment into a spaceship during a story, which unfolds over the period of five episodes – like a TV series.

In Spaceship Unity two to four players aged ten and up slip into the roles of newbies at the IPA, the Interplanetary Alliance. Their first job seems like a boring observation mission at first but it turns out to be more exciting than expected. The two game designers Jens Merkl and Ulrich Blum have developed the family game as a space opera that unfolds over five episodes. The game is story-driven and one of the main aspects is that players don’t strive for victory points but for a good performance. But however, they perform, the story always keeps going but the next chapter played depends on how well the players do in the previous chapter. So, it is not possible to experience all chapters of an episode on the first run-through.

What’s also special about Spaceship Unity is that there won’t be any relaxed sitting at the gaming table because the whole apartment is the playing area. For example, the blinds are used to activate the force field of the spaceship while the vacuum cleaner turns into the jump drive. But Spaceship Unity can still be played without a vacuum cleaner since there are backup-systems to replace appliances that might be missing in some apartments.
