Peaceful Countryside Vibes

Dorfromantik – The Board Game is available now

Friedberg, March 28, 2023: After the great success of the indie video game Dorfromantik, designer duo Michael Palm and Lukas Zach worked with Toukana Interactive to adapt the digital game experience into a board game. The result, Dorfromantik - The Board Game, was recently published by Pegasus Spiele and is now available.

The video game Dorfromantik by German designer studio Toukana Interactive is a relaxed strategy and puzzle game in which one gradually builds up idyllic village landscapes, immersing oneself in a quiet, peaceful world. At the same time, Dorfromantik offers a challenge for those who seek it: to beat one’s high score requires strategic foresight and careful tile placement.

Following the success of the multi-award winning video game, which has garnered more than 21,000 positive reviews on Steam.com, gamers can now enjoy a board game adaptation by the designer duo Michael Palm and Lukas Zach. Dorfromantik - The Board Game translates the peaceful, relaxed gameplay of the video game to the tabletop, as a cooperative experience. Players work together and place hexagonal tiles to create a beautiful landscape, while also fulfilling the requests of the town residents, striving to create the longest possible railroad track and stream, and taking best advantage of the flag tiles that provide points in completed areas. The better they balance all these needs, the more points they will score at the end of the game.

Each play steps one closer to unlocking new components, initially sealed within five colorful, opaque boxes. Thus, new challenges are introduced by gradually increasing scoring opportunities with additional tasks, unique tiles, and other game materials. There are constantly new things to consider when laying out the tiles. Thanks to the included campaign pad, players can start over again and again, trying out new ways to keep pushing their high score higher and higher.

With Dorfromantik - The Board Game one to six people aged eight and up can enjoy the idyllic countryside in this cooperative game that plays in 30 to 60 minutes.
