Friedberg, October 5, 2023: From October 5-8 Pegasus Spiele will attend SPIEL’23. At booth P102 in hall 3, visitors can look forward to SPIEL fun with new board game releases, special offers, promos, a Creators' Corner and much more.
We believe in our motto “Playing is passion” and invite visitors to find their new passions amongst the wonderful products on display at the Pegasus Spiele booth (Hall 3, P102). Attendees will discover Cat in the Box, an extraordinary game that combines quantum theory and cats. In this paradoxical trick-taking game, the cards in hand have no color until they are played. Before the game begins, players bid for the number of tricks they will win. In each round, the highest valued card in the leading color will win the trick, with red acting as a trump suit. If a player does not or cannot follow in the color led, they can change it but will lose the ability to play the original color for the rest of the game. Once either all cards have been played or a paradox occurs—one player is unable to play any of their remaining cards—the game ends. Points are awarded for number of tricks won, plus extra points if that number matches their original bid.
For those hunting for criminally good fun, get ready for the fourth release in the MicroMacro: Crime City game series, Showdown, plus the MicroMacro: Crime City Bonus Box, both released by our partner Edition Spielwiese. Additionally, visitors will find two new bright and fun-filled children's games at the fair—Dori Dino and Snack Happens.
For those who enjoy more complex games, Pegasus Spiele partner Hall Games is debuting a brand-new design by Benjamin Schwer, named Djinn. As the promising young members of the Magic Guild, players must capture the invading Djinn before they cause irreparable harm to the Source. Who will be celebrated as the Savior of the Magical Source? Djinn offers an entertaining and atmospheric gaming experience that requires both forward planning and flexibility. Multiple modular components during setup means each game of Djinn presents a new puzzle to decipher and explore. At SPIEL’23 Djinn will be available at Hall Games (Hall 3, Booth Q103) and afterwards, will be distributed by Pegasus Spiele.
But we have so much more to share: For all four days of the fair, we are running demos of the intergalactic action game Spaceship Unity by Ulrich Blum and Jens Merkl, which was recently awarded the innoSPIEL 2023. In this exciting family game, the everyday objects found throughout one’s living space become the means of controlling a spaceship—an umbrella, the faucet, window blinds, or even a vacuum. To take part in a demo, attendees can register in person at the information desk at booth 3-P102 or online at www.pegasus.de/spiel.
For anyone excited to meet the creative minds behind these games in person, we are hosting a Creators' Corner at the Pegasus Spiele booth. On all four days, visitors can meet designers, explore their new games with them, ask questions, and get their games signed. Also participating in the Creators' Corner will be illustrator Annika Heller and editors from the Pegasus Spiele Games and Books editorial team. They will happily answer questions about the design and development of board, card, and role-playing games.
At the sales counter, visitors will find both new releases and classic games from our catalog sold at special fair prices, with discounts up to 30%. Some titles are sold with free promos, such as a bonus case for the first three releases in the MicroMacro: Crime City series, and visitors will find more free promos at the information desk. As a thank you for their visit, attendees can register at the Pegasus Spiele booth and receive a discount voucher for the Pegasus Spiele online store.
