Work together to the Goal

Pegasus Spiele publishes cooperative family games KuZOOkA and Von Falkenstein

Friedberg, September 5, 2022: In the just released family game KuZOOkA, players represent zoo animals who want to break out of the zoo. To do this, they have to communicate non-verbally and work together. With Von Falkenstein, Pegasus Spiele has recently published another cooperative family game. Here, players have to find their way to a safe castle while a dreadful knight is hunting them down.

It isn’t easy being a zoo animal, so it’s time to hatch an escape plan! With a zoo transfer happening in just eight days, it’s time to rally the other zoo animals and work together to escape. There are multiple ways to escape and on closer inspection, the visitor’s trash could be the key. If players can collect enough ice cream spoons, popsicle sticks, scarves, and other items then they can put a plan into action.

In KuZOOka, players will work together to escape, but there are a few hurdles in the way! With 10 different animal species, it can be a little difficult to understand each other. Players must carefully communicate what items they hold in their hand by strategically placing one of their animal tokens in a space on the path through the zoo. Once tokens have been placed, cards can be evaluated. Depending on the requirements and what is revealed, players can earn experience stars and universal tools, which will help them get to the next level and one step closer to escape!

KuZOOkA by Leo Colovini is an exciting non-verbal communication game with deduction elements that takes about 30 to 45 minutes to play. 120 wooden animal tokens make the zoo escape a haptic experience, while individual animal abilities and a game variant provide new challenges.

In the cooperative family game Von Falkenstein, two to six players aged seven and up are on the run from the dreadful knight. To escape him, they must remember the best way to reach the safe castle. The players can choose between the stories "Ambush at Münzenberg Castle" and "The Revenge of the Rockenberger Robber Barons". The game plan is printed on both sides. The rules remain the same, but the story about Rockenberg is somewhat more difficult due to a special rule. Von Falkenstein, like Celtic, is set in the Wetterau region, the home of Pegasus Spiele. An accompanying booklet provides additional information about the stories on which the game is based and the towns of Rockenberg and Münzenberg.

The designers of this fun game for children and families are Michael Palm and Lukas Zach. The game principle in Von Falkenstein is based on the successful Wizardry to the Power of Three, which was recommended by Spiel des Jahres e.V. in 2017.
